Information Technology Services (ITS) provides the university with comprehensive services and support that contribute to excellence in teaching, research and administration. ITS works closely with faculty to understand their technology needs and is very responsive to ideas for innovation and personalization. Moreover, ITS prioritizes the safe and effective use of emerging technologies and is committed to both cyber safety and public safety. Notably, ITS manages the revolutionary TUSafe app, a one-touch personal safety app, that provides services like a virtual safe walk, real-time tracking for FLIGHT, Temple’s shuttle loop service, and access to the university’s walking escort service.
ITS services are the backbone of the university, and faculty can avail themselves of these essential services, including:
Academic Technology: ITS oversees all technology and engineering services for classroom and individual technology support, training services, and schools, colleges, and campus-wide technology needs.
Applications and Data: ITS manages applications that faculty use daily, such as Banner, Canvas, Zoom, TUportal, Remedy, Listserv, and more, while providing seamless desktop and mobile integration and functionality.
Technology Support Services: ITS ensures smooth functioning of all IT services. Faculty can contact the Technology Support Services department for deskside and remote support on everything related to their technology, from university laptops to troubleshooting various applications.
Infrastructure: ITS oversees cloud computing and hosting and storage services, and the team is committed to the safety and security of cloud infrastructure.
Information Security: ITS priorities the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the university’s data and systems. Faculty can feel confident in the robust security architecture built into all ITS services.
Web, Media, and User Experience: ITS promises user-centric digital solutions for all its technology tools and digital infrastructure, including the university’s web portal.
Faculty are invited to visit the Computer Recycling Center, an important sustainability initiative, as well as the OWLtech technology store for hardware solutions.
